Pelle Snickars is Head of Research at the Swedish National Archive of Recorded Sound and Moving Images. He received his PhD in 2001 on a dissertation entitled, Swedish Film and Visual Mass Culture 1900. Snickars has published in various journals on early cinema, media archives and the mediation of history. His most recent book is the he co-edited, 1897. Media histories around the Stockholm exhibition.
