  Jacqueline von Arb  
     
 

Jacqueline von Arb is the Director of the Norwegian Institute of Recorded Sound, and the newly appointed Director of MemNor Audio Archiving Services AS. She previously headed the International Chamber Music Festival in Stavanger, Norway, for 3 years (1993-94, 96).

In 2005, Jacqueline von Arb was elected Vice President of the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA), after serving as Assistant Coordinator (2003-2006) and Deputee Coordinator (2004) of the IASA Nordic Branch, and as member of the organizing committee of the joint IAML-IASA Congress in Oslo (2004).

The Norwegian Institute of Recorded Sound is also one of 7 partners in the EU-project "Memories" (2006-09), which will design an audio semantic indexation system allowing information retrieval for the access to archive content.

Jacqueline von Arb’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts(French, German, Spanish) from Central University of Iowa, USA and the University of Vienna, Austria, the equivalent of a Bachelor of Music (Instrumental Pedagogy, specializing in Piano, Aural Training and Music Theory) at the Music Conservatory of Northern Norway, as well as graduate studies in Organizational Theory, Communication, Leadership/Organizational Change, and Pedagogic Leadership. She is presently enrolled in Charles Sturt University, Australia (online studies), one semester short of a Graduate Certificate in Audiovisual Archiving.
