Piret Noorhani was born in 1960 in Tartu, Estonia. She studied Estonian language and literature at Tartu University (M.A.). Since 1991 she has been working at Estonian Literary Museum (ELM) as a researcher and archivist of Estonian Cultural History Archives (ECHA), being the head of ECHA since1997. A member of the boards of the Centre for Estonian Diaspora Studies (University of Tartu), of Estonian Society of Literature, of Villem Reiman Society, of Oskar Luts Museum. Head of a working group developing the strategies and politics for Estonian archives abroad. President of the Baltic Audiovisual Archival Council. Author of books and articles on the history of Estonian literature and culture.
