Graduated from the Faculty of Philology, Latvian State University in 1986. Since then works for the same institution though it has changed its official name several times and now is Archives of Latvian Folklore, Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art, University of Latvia. Associated member of Folklore Fellows Network, participated in several cooperation projects including Baltic Institute of Folklore. Regularly conducts field-work, using different documentation techniques. The main scholarly interest – Latvian mythology, doctoral thesis entitled “Problems of Reconstruction of Latvian Mythology” to be finalised this year. Since 1990 in charge of the audiovisual collections of the Archives. Currently the project involves four more people digitising both the material and the catalogues. Member of BAAC since 2006, has participated in conferences of IASA representing the Institute since 1999.
